Therapy is not a quick fix. The time frame depends on the issues and or events a person is experiencing or having that need support in managing. Also, unexpected crisis may prolong treatment plan as situations are being worked through, in these instances a minimum of 4-6 weeks may be needed. On the other hand, if your purpose for therapy is something that has been lingering for years, it may take at least 3 months to recognize progress towards goals. However, there are some clients who chose to participate in long-term therapy for as long as 1-2 years. Therapy will be an ongoing assessment and conversation during the course of treatment.
In our first session, we will explore your reason for seeking therapy and your expectations from therapy. After an initial assessment, you can expect treatment goal that include a realistic approach to every situation and with the necessary tools to build healthy habits and set realistic expectations. Our hope is that you will gain a firm foundation in your identity, which will result in healthier boundaries and less friction in relationships and life.
